About

A chara,
Your hard work is working. Thanks to the sacrifices of the Irish people, we have come a long way over the past five years. The economy is growing faster than any other in the EU. Unemployment has fallen by 35% in County Cork since 2011. 135,000 new jobs have been created since 2012 – 1,000 new jobs a week in 2015 alone. The public finances are back on a steady footing and we are on track to deliver a balanced budget next year. But the job is not finished. We need to keep the recovery going. A functioning economy is crucial to facing up to the many challenges we face.
Our priority is to continue creating jobs, to bring home those who had to emigrate and to fuel a sustainable economy. We need a strong sustainable economy to invest in public services such as health, education, childcare, flood protection, rural broadband local roads and major infrastructural projects such as the N22 Macroom Baile Mhuirne bypass project which will be constructed as part of the Capital Investment Plan 2016-2021.
Finally we want to make work pay. We will abolish the USC if we receive another term in Government. Recent budgets have underpinned this commitment by making modest reductions in the USC which is the tax that will forever be associated with the economic crisis.
I am asking for your support and your Number 1 Vote in order to Keep the Recovery Going.

Warm regards
Michael
